After G and I went to sleep last night, Bo finished tearing out the kitchen soffits. It really opens up the kitchen! We discovered the one soffit still up is a load bearing support soffit, and it will have to stay. We we will likely modernize it, and minimize it.

"Repurposing" our space within the Golf House!
Now that the snooker table is gone, we decided to use the space for a more modern purpose! We are going to take advantage of the Restoration Hardware Memorial Day sale and buy a much larger table, and a buffet for the kitchen.
I really like the feel this setup gives The Golf House! Most of the newer homes are so "combined" and since we've got the space, we thought we'd really like the feel of the combined look!
Taking down the Brunswick Billiard Table
We sold the table to Champs Galleria out of Springdale, Arkansas (go hogs!).
Each of the three pieces of slate was at least 250 lbs.
As you can see, the entire process was very meticulous (thank goodness the buyers were professionals!)
Total, taking it apart and removing it took about two and a half hours!
The buyers mentioned they had a potential buyer in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is a bar owner and wants to use it in his cigar room :)
While it was perfect for the 1940's themed birthday party I held for my brother, and a great conversation piece and entertainment when we entertained...I do believe it opens the place up a bit!? AND just think of the mammoth Christmas tree we will be able to have this year :)
